Sure, we’ve already put up a MacBook Pro 2008 unboxing gallery, but we figured there might be a few of you out there who’d want to see the unboxing action in video form - so here it is. We bring you a look at the newly redesigned MacBook Pro, which launched just a few days ago. In case you missed it, the MacBook Pro now has an aluminum unibody enclosure, a glass display (which means, glossy - not matte,) and even a glass single-button trackpad.
If you’re wondering how these stack up to the older models, be sure to check out our MacBook and MacBook Pro redesign comparison video.

We’ve already hit you guys with the MacBook unboxing gallery, showcasing the brand new redesign for Apple‘s non-Pro notebook. In case you missed it, the MacBook now sports an aluminum enclosure, a glossy glass display, and even a glass trackpad. The old-school white one is still available, but really, those are now an afterthought. We unbox the new aluminum MacBook in this episode of Unboxing Live, so sit back and hit play to get a look at the goods.
We’ve also got another video in the works, comparing the new model to the older model, over on Bleeding Edge TV.

MacBook Pro Late 2008 unboxing gallery
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Features, Galleries, Laptop
We are still working on those unboxing videos for you, but in the meantime, we’ve got more unboxing love based on the new Apple notebooks. This time, we give the MacBook Pro its due, splaying it out for your enjoyment. The newly-redesigned MacBook Pro features an iMac-ish aluminum and glass look to it, including the black bezel around the screen. Gone are the days of the matte finish as well, as the new MacBook Pro is only available in a glossy display finish. The trackpad is now glass, although it strangely doesn’t feel like it, but we guess that’s okay. You’ll see more in the video, but for now, enjoy our MacBook Pro 2008 unboxing gallery.

Two days ago, Apple revealed their redesigned MacBooks and MacBook Pros during their notebook event. We were able to track them down, and now have our hands on the new goods. First up, we bring you an unboxing gallery for the newly redesigned MacBook. It’s made of aluminum, and looks like a miniature MacBook Pro. The screen is glossy, and it no longer has a built-in FireWire port. We will have video up soon, but in the meantime, check out the MacBook 2008 unboxing gallery.

iPod touch 2G unboxing gallery

You that 2G iPod touch that Apple was all excited about, being that it’s the thinnest iPod touch ever (despite being only the second one ever made)? We figured you guys might be interested in having us take a bunch of unboxing images of the one that just got delivered here to Gear Live HQ. Yeah, this thing is thin, and if you don’t already have a first-gen iPod touch, you should seriously look into this model if you’ve been waiting one. It’s a nice improvement over the original. Check out the rest of the images over at our iPod touch 2G unboxing gallery.

After a long and arduous wait and a somewhat aggravating purchase experience, we had to insist that the folks at the Apple store allow us to film this episode of Unboxing Live. Obviously, we are unboxing the 16GB iPhone 3G, in both black and white flavors. Included with the iPhone are iPhone earbuds, a Dock cable, and a new tiny USB power brick. It also comes with a SIM removal tool, a cleaning cloth, and the ever-present Apple stickers. Conspicuously missing from the package is the iPhone 3G stand-up dock, which is sold separately for $20.
AirPort Express 802.11n unboxing gallery

A few days ago, Apple released the new AirPort Express with 802.11n Wi-Fi built-in. The release signified the completion of Apple’s wireless router line moving to the 802.11n Draft 2.0 standard, and they kept the price at an affordable $99 USD. We went down to the local Apple Store to pick one of these up to use alongside our AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule, which means we have a beefy N network rocking here at Gear Live HQ. Using the three in tandem is fantastic, especially for wireless Time Machine support.
We just put up an AirPort Express 802.11n unboxing gallery. We’ve got a good 12 images up there for your perusal giving you a look at how compact the AirPort Express wireless router is, as long as the ports and the power connector, among other things. Go give it a look.

Over the past day, we’ve been putting Apple‘s Time Capsule through its paces, and so far, we like what we see. We will be updating you with some impressions in a future post, but for now, we figured we’d hit you with another one of our unboxing galleries. We have a good 18 shots of Apple’s backup NAS wireless router that works hand-in-hand with Time Machine in all of its glory over in our Time Capsule unboxing gallery. Check it out.
Also, if you are interested, here is a Time Capsule vs. Airport Extreme size comparison gallery.

Apple‘s latest gem, the MacBook Air, has been around for just about two weeks now. We got our hands on one of the SSD-based units, and are currently working on our full review. In the meantime, we figured this unboxing gallery might be of interest. Yesterday we hit you with our MacBook Air unboxing video, giving you a look at the SSD version of the notebook. Today, we bring you our unboxing video and demonstration of the MacBook Air SuperDrive.
As you probably know by now, the MacBook Air doesn’t include any sort of optical drive built-in to the unit. While the Remote Disc feature is nice, sometimes you just want to have a dedicated optical drive. I’d hate to install Vista in Boot Camp using Remote Disc, if that is even possible. For what it’s worth, we think this is a worthy purchase to go alongside your MacBook Air notebook. You just never know when you’ll need it.
